The Algonquin Lions managed to gather a little more than 200 runners (and 80+ volunteers) for our inaugural Running with Lions 5k on Thanksgiving morning. We were raising money for our local food pantry as well as the new Eagles Wings food program at Jacobs High School.
Since 1917, Lions clubs have offered people the opportunity to give something back to their communities. From involving members in projects as local as cleaning up an area park or as far-reaching as helping bring sight to the blind, Lions clubs have always embraced those committed to building a brighter future for their community.
Your local Lions Club has been serving the Algonquin community for 80 Years! Since 1939 the Algonquin Lions Club has had a special emphasis on our children, the hearing and visually impaired, and those that are food challenged. Therefore, your Algonquin Lions Club has focused on and works to continue to financially support these causes. Our programs are continually changing to meet needs of the community and our motto has never wavered: “We Serve.”
